Abstract
The developments in artificial intelligence (AI) have made deepfake audio technologies, which bring up significant ethical and legal issues, particularly in podcasting. To find out the implications of synthetic voice generation, this study relies on qualitative research methods, namely expert interviews, case study analysis, and thematic content analysis. Moral and regulatory issues raised in relation to unauthorized voice cloning, misinformation and identity theft are increasing. AI-generated political robocalls and posthumous voice replications are some of the main events discussed in the paper to emphasize the ethical implications of these technological advancements. Even though deepfake audio is an international problem, the reflections of Indian media, law, and communication specialists form the basis of this research. The results indicate the necessity of ethical regulation, the enhancement of legal protection, and education of the population. This paper proposes the AI literacy programs to allow people to detect and comprehend synthetic media in digital audio messages.
